The all-new Buick Envista is truly the best of both worlds. This sporty crossover SUV offers the cargo space and utility of an SUV, while offering the sporty and nimble nature of a traditional sedan. Buick helped define the small SUV space back in 2012 with its hit model, the Encore, and it is back to further disrupt this segment with the Envista. On top of the sheer practicality and function of the Envista, it is also an affordable offering in its segment. Starting at $22,400, the Envista is the perfect choice for small families, young professionals, and people interested in upgrading from their sedan.
The 2024 Envista comes in 3 distinct trim levels, each with its own unique offerings.
Beyond the standard features per trim, there is a host of available features across all 3 trim levels such as a moonroof and a selection of additional safety features, covered below.
The Envista brings a fresh silhouette to Buick’s lineup, featuring a stunning exterior design with an interior packed full of all the modern technology and amenities. The Envista is the first Buick in production that features the new design language that we saw when the Wildcat EV concept was shown to the world. The front of the Envista is dominated by its wide, low-mounted grille, giving the Envista some serious road presence. The headlights and taillights evolve Buick’s signature wing lighting, becoming thinner and sharper. This sporty design flows to the back of the car with the help of sharp body lines, creating an overall dramatic shape. The ST features a bold, gloss-black mesh grille with additional gloss-black styling throughout. The Avenir takes this a step further with a Black Ice chrome grille as well as body-color front and rear fascias. The ST also comes with either 18″ or 19″ exclusive high-gloss black wheels, and the Avenir has a set of breathtaking 19″ aluminum wheels finished in Pearl Nickel.
Stepping inside the Envista, you are surrounded by modern amenities and premium materials along with seating for up to 5 people. The first thing you may notice is the ultrawide 11″ diagonal infotainment screen. Featuring Buick’s new Tri-Shield logo proudly on the steering wheel, the Envista’s interior is refined and classy. In a similar fashion to the exterior, the interior has some trim-specific changes as well. If you opt for the Sport Touring trim, you will be granted Santorini Blue accents throughout, which help distinguish you from the crowd. Both the ST and Avenir trims also include embroidered logos on the front headrests, a nice touch. The Avenir takes this a step further with a distinctive front-seat stitching pattern as well as standard heated front seats.
The all-new Envista prioritizes safety and focuses on getting you and your precious cargo to your destination with ease of mind. The Envista comes standard with Buick Driver Confidence (Buicks Safety Suite) as well as 6 standard safety and driver-assistance technologies.
A plethora of additional safety technologies are available across all trims such as Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Park Assist, Rainsense front wipers, and Adaptive Cruise Control. With the Avenir, you can opt for an automatic-dimming outside driver mirror.
Powering the 2024 Buick Envista is a potent 1.2-liter turbocharged ECOTEC motor. Reengineered for the Envista, the 1.2-liter turbocharged motor has been reworked to be lighter and overall more efficient. This motor packs a punch and delivers a GM-estimated 137 horsepower and 162 lb-feet of torque. This motor is paired with a standard, 6-speed automatic transmission, giving the Envista buttery smooth shifts and a smooth ride no matter what speed you are traveling.
How does the all-new Envista stack up against a strong competitor in its segment, the Chevy Trax? Well, for one, both vehicles share the same platform and architecture. Despite this, both have some noticeable differences that set each other apart in the subcompact segment. For starters, the Envista is larger all around when compared to the Trax, offering some more room inside for occupants. The Envista also features Buick’s new design language, offering some more visual appeal to the consumer. Both the Envista and the Trax are powered by GM’s 1.2-liter turbocharged motor which sends power to the front wheels. The Envista’s high-end appearance, as well as its new-to-market nameplate, make it a stand-out player in its segment, and despite being slightly more expensive than vehicles like the Trax, its offerings certainly justify the price difference.
