New Colors & Appearance Packages

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 stays true to the rugged and muscular appearance people have fallen in love with, while also adding some key changes to both the exterior and interior. The largest visual change is the addition of two new paint colors; Downpour Metallic and Thunderstorm Gray. Downpour Metallic is a beautiful, deep blue color while Thunderstorm Gray is a medium to light gray with a rich saturation of shade. There are also two new wheel options available for the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Beyond just aesthetics, retractable footsteps are now available across a selection of trims in the Sierra’s lineup. These footsteps provide further ease of use and functionality as well as added safety while climbing in and out of the vehicle.
Moving to the interior of the 2024 Sierra, you can expect to see a similar design language that has been used in the past, but with some beneficial updates. The Sierra was designed to keep you, the driver, in the utmost comfort, while also providing you with all the creature comforts and safety features one would expect in a 2024 model year full-size truck. The interior of the 2024 Sierra features easy-to-use controls, that are well within reach of the driver. The quality of the materials is variable with the trim level, but even the base model leaves nothing to be desired when compared to the rest of the market. Starting with the SLE trim, you will get a staggering 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. As you move up in trim levels, you will receive even more added features such as a head-up display and further power-adjustable items. The top-of-the-line Denali Ultimate will give you a stunning wood trim as well as supple leather covering most of the interior surfaces. You will also be spoiled with a 16-way power adjustable seat with massage functions, as well as ample storage space.

Safety & Driver Assistance Technology

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 maintains its dominance with driver safety features and assistance technology. Carrying over its top-of-the-line safety features from its 2023 model year, the 2024 Sierra 1500 creates a safe and luxurious environment for all its passengers. The 1500 will come with standard crash-avoidance technology. This includes automatic emergency braking, active lane control, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts. You can opt to get adaptive cruise control, to keep you at the same pace while cruising on the highway. Higher-end trim levels will also be able to be outfitted with GMC’s Super Cruise system. The Super Cruise system utilizes a vast network of thousands of miles of highways, to allow the driver a true hands-off experience. This autonomous system will also allow the driver to go hands-free with a trailer attached.

Powertrain Availability & Active Exhaust

Similar to the 2023 model year, the 2024 Sierra 1500 will be available with four different engines, two different transmissions, and a choice of rear- or four-wheel drive. The base engine setup is GMC’s 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder motor that produces 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. This turbocharged option will be paired with GMC’s 8-speed automatic transmission and has been newly dubbed the “Turbo Max” by GM. If you are looking for a little more power, the 2024 1500 also is available with two V-8 options: a 5.3-liter V8 producing 355 horsepower and a 6.2-liter producing 420 horsepower. Sitting above those is a torque-rich diesel 6-cylinder which produces a whopping 495 pound-feet of torque. All 3 of these higher-level engine options will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Paired with the variety of engine options, certain trim levels for the 2024 model year will be available to purchase with an active exhaust system. These trim levels are the Denali, Denali Ultimate, AT4, AT4X, and SLT. With a touch of a button, the exhaust will become throatier and louder thanks to an electronically controlled flap within the truck’s exhaust system.
